Dr. Darrick L. Castleberry is a passionate dentist near Klein who has dedicated his life to the practice of dentistry so he can improve the lives of his patients.

Going through two tooth extractions without anesthetics when he was a child left him with a lasting impression that lasted well into his adult life, sparking his interest in the science of smiles. Today, he continues learning and helping his patients to ensure no one has the same dental experience he had growing up.

Dr. Castleberry pursued his dental education at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After graduation, he served his country as a dentist in the United States Navy, completing a General Practice Residency. During this time, he provided dental care to sailors and broadened his expertise across various dental specialties.

To stay at the forefront of dental technology, Dr. Castleberry continues to study at well-known institutions like the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies and The Misch International Institute. His dedication has earned him a place in H-Texas Magazine, recognizing him as one of the top cosmetic dentists in the country.

Beyond the dental office, Dr. Castleberry is a devout Christian who finds daily inspiration in reading God's word. He enjoys golfing, fantasy football, and maintaining an active lifestyle through exercise. Inviting, Welcoming, Professional, & Honest! I have never had a dentist that was so gentle, caring, valuing my feelings of fear & helping me overcome them. I also never had a dentist that actually calls you after treatment to make sure your not having any more pain... Now that's true compassion. I highly recommend you to try out Dr. Castleberry, He really is the real deal. I drive an hour just to see him. I would drive 2 hours if I had too just to be in good hands.

How much does a dental checkup & cleaning cost in Klein?

Several factors must be considered before establishing the cost of a dental checkup and cleaning, such as:

  • The location of the dentist’s office
  • Your current oral health
  • The type of imaging or technology used to ensure accuracy
  • Whether sedation is required
  • Whether dental insurance is being used to help cover the cost.

An average price estimate in the United States for this type of preventive service can range between $200-$350. The reason is that these visits include various steps that are necessary to ensure accurate diagnoses. Not only is a complete examination and cleaning provided, but dental X-rays are required so that the dentist can easily view all areas of your mouth.

If you plan to use dental insurance to help cover the cost, you will likely pay little to nothing out of pocket. This is because most insurance companies promote preventive care, offering 80-100% coverage for these appointments.

What do you do if you can’t afford a dentist?

Before you assume that visiting your dentist’s office is too expensive, remember that prevention is the most effective way to save money and maintain better oral health. While dental insurance can be a worthwhile investment, it is not the only way you can pay for treatment.

Many dental practices offer flexible financing or in-house membership programs to help ease the financial stress many patients face when seeking dental care.

At The Castleberry Center, we are pleased to not only welcome all PPO dental and military insurance plans, as well as Medicaid and Chip, but we are also partnered with CareCredit, Lending Club, and United Medical Credit. These third-party companies offer low-to-no-interest payment plans so that you can break up the cost of your care. This makes it easy to remain within your budget and avoid the high upfront price tag of treatment.

How do I get emergency dental care?

Taking preventive steps to reduce your chances of a dental emergency is important; however, not all injuries are avoidable. Should you need immediate assistance for an infection, knocked-out tooth, lost dental crown, or even teeth sensitivity, make sure to call your dentist’s office right away.

Dr. Castleberry and our team are pleased to provide same-day emergency appointments for anyone who is in pain and needs help to address a serious injury. Using updated technology to ensure accurate diagnoses, we’ll carefully examine your smile and determine the best way to treat the problem.

While waiting at home for your appointment, we’ll make sure you have first-aid tips you can use to manage your pain and avoid further damage.

How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

The average cost of a tooth extraction is $150-$400 without dental insurance. The reason for the large price gap is that dentists must factor in various aspects of treatment – all of which can cause the overall cost to be higher or lower.

For example, your dentist will:

  • Consider the type of tooth being removed as well as its location
  • Determine whether the tooth has partially erupted or if it is impacted (below the gumline)
  • Incorporate whether sedation is required in addition to the use of local anesthesia
  • Discuss options for tooth replacement (i.e., dental bridge, denture, or dental implant)

Most dental insurance companies will agree to cover a portion of the cost associated with tooth extraction (50-80%); however, this should be clarified before you agree to start treatment.

If you are without private dental insurance, you can inquire about enrolling in a flexible payment plan through a third-party company. Here, you can choose an available plan with low or no interest and pay out the cost of your procedure over time instead of all upfront.
